A less-than-flattering FBI dossier released today on Steve Jobs contains allegations of early drug use, along with one interviewee’s assertion that the Apple co-founder “possesses integrity as long as he gets his way.”

The dossier was compiled in 1991 because Jobs was being considered for an appointment to the President’s Export Council during the administration of President George H.W. Bush. The Washington Post, the Associated Press, the Los Angeles Times and USA Today have stories.

One person interviewed by the FBI said Jobs was “willing to twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals.” The quote provoked this response from the Los Angeles Times: “Meow!”
