A former employee of the Army Corps of Engineers has been indicted for her statements to a federal inspector investigating how a picture of the Confederate battle flag ended up on the desk of an African-American co-worker.

Susan Thompson, 58, of Jacksonville, Florida, was indicted on two counts of making false statements to a federal officer for alleged lies to the inspector from the Federal Protective Service, according to a press release and stories by the Florida Times-Union and News4Jax.

The indictment (PDF) claims Thompson placed the flag picture on the co-worker’s desk June 25, then denied she did so on two occasions.
