The son of a prominent federal judge in Puerto Rico has been accused of murdering his wife in a July 14 shooting by their swimming pool in a wealthy San Juan suburb.

Pablo Casellas Toro, 47, was arrested on Wednesday, the Associated Press reports. His father is U.S. District Judge Salvador Casellas, a former Puerto Rico treasury secretary.

Pablo Casellas Toros, an insurance broker, has denied shooting his wife, the story says. He told police that he came home from visiting his parents, saw his wife was dead, and observed an unknown man jumping over the fence. According to a report in the newspaper El Nuevo Dia, he told authorities he was carjacked earlier in the day and the perpetrators stole a gun of the same caliber used in the murder of his wife.
