For those who hope to get a tax refund for pet-related purchases, TaxProf Blog has posted a form W-K9, Individual Pet Tax Return.

The form’s numbering system asks users to assign values to their pet’s cuteness, protective ability and other attributes. Then adjustments are made for items such as squeaky toys. A damages section offers a “piranha credit” based on the number of other household pets it has destroyed.

The blog has posted other April 1 stories as well. One reports that President Obama will teach a constitutional law class at Penn Law School because of the “relaxing atmosphere” there. Another reports that Stanford’s acceptance rate for the class of 2020 has plummeted to 0 percent, assuring the university that “no other school can match its desirability in the near future.”
