Lawyers at the Minneapolis firm Parsinen Kaplan Rosberg and Gotlieb have found a unique gift for clients, a "Little Black Book" of favorites, everything from contacts for beloved artists and architects to recommendations for travel agents, barbers and bakeries.

The book, written in the recommending lawyer's actual handwriting, is embellished with coffee stains, ink blots and doodles in the margins, notes Larry Bodine's LawMarketing Blog.

Web users can download a browsable PDF of the book for themselves by visiting the firm's site.

The book's fine print warns that "Breaking the seal constitutes acceptance of this product and insight into PKR+G attorney personalities will persist. Open at your own risk."

"It's an annual tradition at the firm to connect with our clients through a unique communications piece," PKR+G's managing partner, Howard Rubin, tells Bodine.

But the firm apparently took the tradition to a new level this year, not only connecting clients to favorite community services, but also connecting them to one another.

"It's a genuine endorsement of businesses, products and services. At the same time, our connections also reveal who we are as human beings," Rubin says.
