Professionals who belong to an unusual Manhattan fitness club that disdains slacker members include billionaire philanthropist George Soros, former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker, former General Electric CEO Jack Welch, and BigLaw lawyer Bill Zabel.

The club founded by bodybuilder John Sitaras requires clients to go through six hours of tests to establish a personalized fitness program, the New York Times reports. Members of Sitaras Fitness must pay monthly fees of $150 and commit to at least two personal training sessions a week that cost $115 each.

Those who lack dedication aren’t accepted, the story says. Another member had his membership revoked after he demanded classical music upon his arrival and wanted others kicked off his chosen equipment.

The only BigLaw lawyer mentioned in the article is Zabel, 75, a founding partner of Schulte Roth & Zabel. According to the Times, he long held the center’s record for “holding the plank,” an exercise for the abdomen and back.
