The attorney general of Florida, Pam Bondi, gave up her job at the Hillsborough County State’s Attorney’s office at the end of 2009 so she could run for office in 2010.

Hence, Bondi, who is now engaged to an ophthalmologist, had no income in 2010, according to financial disclosure forms she recently filed. She earned $133,685 from the AG’s office in 2009, reports the St. Petersburg Times.

However, she also reported she had no checking account in 2010, sparking questions from the newspaper and a promise by a Bondi representative that the disclosure would be amended to provide checking account balances that had been unintentionally omitted.

“People make mistakes all the time on their financial disclosures,” said Tallahassee attorney Mark Herron, who specializes in election law and apparently does not represent Bondi. “Most of them come from not reading the form.”
