Former AG Blasts Kansas Supreme Court During Lunch Break in His Legal Ethics Trial
Former attorney general Phill Kline went on the offensive today during a lunch break in his legal ethics trial, blasting the Kansas Supreme Court for what he called obstruction of his own legitimate investigations of abortion clinics in years past when he served as AG and Johnson County district attorney. According to the Kansas City Star, Kline is facing ethics charges that he mishandled evidence and misled and defied judges during his investigation of Planned Parenthood and an abortion clinic in Wichita, Ka.
His lunchtime news conference was held in front of the office suite where the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys is hearing Kline’s case, reports the Capital-Journal. If the board determines that Kline has, in fact, committed ethics violations, it will ultimately be up to the supreme court to determine what punishment to mete out.
