The former CEO of a camera vendor that used to run Chicago’s controversial red-light traffic camera system has taken a plea in a federal bribery case.
Karen Finley, 55, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery concerning some $2 million in cash, vacations and an Arizona condominium provided by Redflex Traffic Systems over the course of a decade to win city business, according to the Chicago Tribune (reg. req.) and Reuters. She will also cooperate in the ongoing Chicago case.
Finley faces a maximum prison sentence of five years and will serve any time she gets concurrently with her sentence in a similar case in Ohio in which she pleaded guilty in June.
Finley and her lawyer, Michael Monico, declined to comment after the hearing.
