A former environmental lawyer with a law degree from Harvard is reading a book a day and posting the reviews on her blog.

Nina Sankovitch is near her goal of reading and reviewing 365 books, the New York Times reports. “I’ve always thought great literature is all one needs to read to understand human psychology, emotions, even history,” she told the Times. “For someone sitting around reading books, it’s been a really lively year.”

The Times says Sankovitch, who lives in Westport, Conn., has “piercing blue eyes” and wears a locket with an image of a man on a toilet reading a book. Her blog is called Read All Day.

“Sankovitch claims not to be a Type A maniac and does seem pretty normal,” the Times reports. “A non-reading indulgence, she says, is watching NCIS while folding laundry. Still, to make this work she’s cut out a lot—the garden, The New Yorker, wasting time online, ambitious cooking, clothes shopping, coffee with friends.”

She has a 27-year-old stepdaughter and four boys ranging in age from 8 to 16. Her husband, Jack Menz, is also a lawyer. “This is not someone trying to run an ultra-marathon,” he told the Times. “It’s someone getting to do what she really enjoys.”
