Former lawyer is sentenced for role in home invasion attack on managing partner
Former Virginia lawyer Alecia Schmuhl was sentenced to 45 years in prison on Thursday for aiding a November 2014 home invasion and torture attack on the managing partner who fired her.
Schmuhl received the maximum sentence under her plea deal for her role in the attack carried out by her husband, former lawyer Andrew Schmuhl, report NBC Washington and WJLA.
Alecia Schmuhl helped plan the attack on the managing partner, Leo Fisher, and his wife, Susan Duncan, at their home in McLean, Virginia. Then she waited in the car while her husband carried out the three-hour attack, slitting Fisher’s throat and stabbing Duncan. Both survived.
Alecia Schmuhl pleaded guilty in September to aggravated malicious wounding, abduction, and burglary with a deadly weapon. Andrew Schmuhl was sentenced last August to life in prison.
