Former SG Drew Days to Retire from Law Firm Where He Worked for 14 Years
Former Solicitor General Drew Days is retiring from Morrison & Foerster, the law firm where he worked for 14 years.
Days had an of counsel position at the firm, according to The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times. Asked why he is leaving, Days gave the blog two reasons. “They are 5 and 1—granddaughters in El Paso, Texas,” he said.
Days recalled the partner meeting when lawyers at Morrison & Foerster tried to lure him to the law firm after he left the Justice Department. “At the end of the meeting, the entertainment was the Mo-Fonics—a rock band of partners and associates,” Days recalled in The BLT interview. “I said if I’m going to affiliate with any law firm, it’s going to be this one.”
Days is also the Alfred M. Rankin Professor Emeritus of Law at Yale Law School.
