The general counsel of the Oklahoma Bar Association has entered a reduced plea in connection with allegations he groped and bit a woman in a suite at a racetrack and casino.

Dan Murdock entered an Alford plea on Thursday to a reduced misdemeanor charge of outraging public indecency, report the Oklahoman and the Associated Press. The plea does not admit the facts but acknowledges there is enough evidence to persuade a jury of guilt.

He was sentenced to one year of probation and to perform 50 hours of community service speaking to people in therapy for alcohol abuse. He also must undergo an alcohol assessment.

Previously Murdock was charged with sexual battery. He had been accused of groping and biting a woman on the breast and neck during a wedding shower he was hosting. She had claimed he acted improperly after inviting her to tour his suite and asking, “Are you a tease like all the other women?”

He has resigned his position with the bar, effective at the end of the year. As part of his job, he oversaw investigations of misconduct complaints against lawyers.
