Research by an Austrian student and a check of the telephone book led to a murder case against a 90-year-old former SS member.

Adolf Storms, a former member of the 5th SS Panzer Division, is accused of playing a role in the March 29, 1945 murder of 57 Jewish forced laborers who were shot from behind while kneeling by a grave near the Austrian village of Deutsch Schützen, reports the Lede blog of the New York Times.

He is also accused of personally shooting to death another Jew who couldn't keep walking during a forced march from Deutsch Schützen, the newspaper says.

During a raid on his home last year, Storms reportedly said he didn’t remember the events that are the basis of the charges against him.
