When his co-workers tired of hearing his views about issues related to his job and the law in general, an anonymous public defender in Connecticut found an alternative.
He adopted the screen name Gideon and started his own law blog, which has generated as many as 5,000 hits a week, reports the Connecticut Law Tribune. And, in the process of generating his own thoughts and comments, he regularly checks out what other law bloggers have to say on topics of interest to him.
“I hope [blogging] gets more mainstream acceptance among lawyers,” he tells the legal publication. “Right now, I get the sense that most lawyers don't think much of blogs. They're missing out on a lot. Blogs…are a great way to communicate with other lawyers, to share ideas and stay on top of the law. I'd definitely like to see more Connecticut bloggers. Currently, there are only 4 or 5 of us.”
