Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she has “no doubt” that sexism played a role in the 2016 presidential election.

Ginsburg commented Tuesday evening during a New York City interview with Charlie Rose of CBS, report the Washington Post, Politico, CBS and the Huffington Post.

After Ginsburg said sexism played a role, Rose asked whether sexism was the decisive factor in Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump.

“There are so many things that might have been decisive,” Ginsburg replied. “But that was a major, major factor.”

Ginsburg said she saw the close race as “a hopeful sign” for women.

Ginsburg was criticized when she referred to Donald Trump as a “faker” during the election, and said she didn’t even want to contemplate Trump as president. She later released a statement expressing regret for those comments.
