Greenberg Traurig announced Tuesday that the 1,800-attorney law firm will open a German office Oct. 1.

Located in the country’s capital city of Berlin, it will be operated by more than 50 attorneys from Olswang, who represent their soon-to-be former firm’s entire outpost there. The Olswang office’s staff also will be joining Greenberg Traurig, a law firm press release says.

The office will be the fourth in Europe for the U.S. firm and its 38th overall.

“As we always do, we waited patiently for years to find the right time, the right place, and especially the right people, and we could not be more pleased with this opportunity,” said chief executive officer Richard Rosenbaum in the release. “With empowered leadership on the ground, we are confident this will be an important enhancement to the firm’s global platform.”
