Dewey Office in Poland Joins Greenberg Traurig as Firm Snaps Up About 50 Euro Lawyers

Updated: A merger between Greenberg Traurig and the struggling Dewey & LeBoeuf wasn’t to be.

But the firm’s office in Warsaw, Poland is joining Greenberg Traurig, which will now be known as Greenberg Traurig Grzesiak, the Wall Street Journal Law Blog reports.

The new name partner is Jaroslaw Grzesiak, former managing partner of the office, according to a firm press release (PDF). Lejb Fogelman is the senior partner, the article notes.

The Warsaw office has six partners, according to Legal Week.

All told, Law Blog reports, Greenberg Traurig has snapped up about 50 of Dewey’s lawyers in Europe, including executive committee member and former global corporate finance chair Frank R. Adams.

Legal Week says another London corporate finance partner, Federico Salinas, also is joining Greenberg Traurig.

The Italian contingent of Dewey, which comprises 18 partners, is expected to establish a new firm, Legal Week notes.
