Happy Holidays for Howrey Staff: Firm Gives $1K Across-the-Board Bonus

Staff at Howrey thought they were attending an ordinary quarterly breakfast meeting yesterday morning in the firm's main conference room.

So when managing partner Robert Ruyak announced a $1,000 across-the-board bonus for all nonlawyer staff, there were gasps and some tears, reports the Blog of Legal Times, relying on an unnamed source who attended the meeting.

The bonus is intended as a thank-you for the staff's hard work during a difficult year in which the firm did well, Ruyak said at the meeting.

Year-end bonuses for Howrey associates haven't been announced yet.
