A Harvard law graduate says he hopes to become the “nail fungus king” with a new concoction that cured his own problem.

Jeff Treut of Tewksbury Township in New Jersey is a tax strategies consultant with a hedge fund advisory group, but he also has an entrepreneurial bent, the Hunterdon Democrat reports. He had a paper route and landscape business in high school, and a vending machine venture in college.

He also had a life-long nail-fungus problem that he finally cured two-and-a-half years ago after years of experimenting with ingredients, the story says. He read patent applications and reports on effectiveness, using what he learned in one mixture after another. One formula with a vinegar base finally worked.

“I still can’t believe it when I see my toes now,” he told the Hunterdon Democrat. “I was frustrated for so many years, almost obsessed with my own feet.”

He plans to register his formula as a trade secret rather than a patent, the story says. Now he’s hoping to find a company that will market the product.
