Hogan Lovells will enter the Boston market by combining with Collora, a litigation boutique, in a move that’s expected to be effective Sept. 1.

Collora focuses on investigations and litigation, and the firm has worked with Hogan Lovells since the 1990s, the Wall Street Journal’s Law Blog reports. Collora, which opened in 1988, has approximately 25 attorneys and 25 staff members, according to the article. Its practice areas include life sciences, health care, financial services and education.

“The Boston region is a key strategic market in the United States. Although we have worked closely with clients in the area for years, it more recently became clear to us that there was a need for an office that had strong roots in the community,” Steve Immelt, Hogan Lovells’ CEO, said in a press release. “Collora is a firm that shares our values, our culture and our approach.”
