Houston PI Lawyer Threatens Suit Over Coat He Left Behind at Airport
A Houston personal injury lawyer says it’s not his fault that he left his Polo coat behind at an airport food court.
William Ogletree maintains that his coat should have been collected and kept in a secure place until he returned to claim it. In a letter posted to the Smoking Gun website, Ogletree says that one of three entities is responsible: the city of Houston, the concession company or Continental Airlines.
“This letter is to put all three entities on notice that if this matter is not resolved in 10 days, that suit will be filed,” he writes in the Jan. 18 letter. “Then, all of you can have your lawyers blame each other in court. … I am looking forward to discovering how all of you deal with lost property in the airport. I suspect your record is dismal and that employee theft runs rampant.”
Ogletree adds that the entities can avoid legal action by paying him $800. Ogletree’s law firm, Ogletree Abbott, did not return phone calls seeking comment by the Southeast Texas Record.
