Showering together with an illicit lover may not be all that unusual. But doing so at the courthouse may have cost a Colorado judge and the lawyer he was involved with their jobs.

The two admittedly had sex in the judge’s chambers and, according to an attorney disciplinary complaint, showered together repeatedly in the women’s facility at the courthouse, the Denver Post reports.

Grafton Biddle, 57, a Douglas County District Magistrate, resigned on Dec. 18, due to rumors of the several-month romantic entanglement in 2006, and Laurie Steinman, 29, was fired on Dec. 22, after admitting to the affair, the newspaper reports.

A disciplinary case brought by the Attorney Regulation Counsel of the Colorado Supreme Court, resulting from a letter sent by Biddle’s fourth wife, is ongoing. It contends that Steinman several times argued cases before the judge without acknowledging the conflict.
