In the 11th day of deliberation over the guilt or innocence of the impeached former governor of Illinois in a political corruption case, a federal jury in Chicago, it appears, might be near a verdict on some of the 24 counts.

Defendant Rod Blagojevich returned to court late in the afternoon Wednesday and barricades were being set up outside the Dirksen Federal Building, reported the Chicago Sun-Times.

However, a note from the jury suggested it is deadlocked on some counts, reported the Associated Press.

The Blagojevich on Trial blog of the Chicago Tribune provides more details.
