Heather “Veronica” Pak only worked at the Shim Law Firm in Seattle for a little over a year.

But during that time she allegedly stole some $825,000, writing firm checks in the tens of thousands of dollars to herself and relatives and charging personal expenses on a firm credit card, reports the Seattle Times. As an escrow agent for the Shim firm, she had authority to sign checks.

Pak, who is 41, also is accused of forging a client’s endorsement on a $7,500 settlement check to divert the money for her own purposes.

She is now facing 114 theft counts related to her work for the firm from June 2008 to October of last year.

The article doesn’t include any comment from Pak or her counsel.
