A blistering 74-count ethics complaint accuses a newly retired Alabama judge of multiple violations of conduct rules for jurists.

Among them, former Family Court Judge Patricia Warner allegedly accepted nearly $21,000 in campaign contributions from gambling-related entities, then refused to step down from a child custody case involving a casino owner whose lobbyist was involved in the gifts, reports the Montgomery Advertiser.

She also allegedly was reversed for clear error in 27 of 29 appeals.

The article says the Judicial Inquiry Commission is seeking to have the Court of the Judiciary discipline Warner by going after her retirement benefits, which would be a first in the state.

She and her lawyer could not immediately be reached by the newspaper for comment.
