Known for posting Instagrams that poke fun at fellow rappers, in a blend of jokes, promotional hashtags and captions that encourage the target to take the bait, 50 Cent seems to be using a similar approach to the federal judge who is overseeing his bankruptcy case.

Days after he was told he would have to appear in court to explain online photos that show him surrounded by $100 bills, 50 Cent posted another Instagram money photo on Monday, reports the New York Daily News. It shows 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, sitting in front of a huge stack of cash and is captioned: “The KANAN Tape now playing, I’m Too Rich.”

Followers did not fail to appreciate the apparent chutzpah.

“Didn’t the judge just speak to you about this?” wrote one, suggesting that 50 Cent might rue the new post.

But the rapper isn’t concerned, another follower wrote. “They want him back in court for takin pics with money and he does it again. Hahaha.”

It remains to be seen what response, if any, Judge Ann Nevin will make to the new post.

Last week she ordered 50 Cent to come to court and explain earlier online photos, in a Hartford, Connecticut, hearing that is still upcoming. (The Hartford Courant says no date has been scheduled.) Nevin said she was “concerned about allegations of nondisclosure” made by creditors “and a lack of transparency in the case.”

His lawyer told the ABA Journal last week that a responsive filing was planned this week and said his client has fully answered all questions asked of him and will continue to do so.

“Mr. Jackson will continue working towards filing a reorganization plan that will be accepted by creditors and the court,” added attorney Patrick J. Neligan Jr. in his written statement. He said he is confident the parties will reach an agreed settlement of the Chapter 11 case.

Neligan did not immediately respond Tuesday to a message left by the ABA Journal with a spokeswoman for 50 Cent.
