Social network websites LinkedIn and JD Supra today co-launched Legal Updates, an application that showcases and distributes legal content on the homepages of LinkedIn users.

Early feedback—not to mention strong buzz from the Twitterverse—have called the joint effort a game-changer in the online dissemination and marketing of legal work to other lawyers in similar practice areas, Adrian Lurssen, co-founder of JD Supra, told the ABA Journal.

With more than 70 million users, LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional social network. Legal Updates, which can be customized to specific legal topics, provide users with the first searchable repository of legal content on the LinkedIn platform, according to a press announcement.
