An insurance coverage practitioner who has been a name partner in at least three law firms is joining Jenner & Block as a partner.
Jerry Oshinsky is expected to help the Chicago-based litigation powerhouse, which already has an active coverage practice representing corporate policyholders, build its West Coast operations, according to Business Insurance.
The approximately 500-attorney Jenner opened its fourth office, in Los Angeles, earlier this year.
"Jerry is a true superstar, one of the most highly respected insurance coverage lawyers in the nation," says John Mathias Jr., who chair's Jenner's insurance litigation and counseling practice group, in a PR Newswire press release. "He is a fantastic addition to our practice, and we are very excited to have him on board."
Meanwhile, the Gilbert Oshinsky firm that most recently served as a marquee for the well-known insurance coverage partner is shortening its moniker to Gilbert. Oshinsky, who was the firm's only Los Angeles partner, is the sole lawyer leaving the firm according to a press release issued by Scott Gilbert. He wishes his former colleague the best, reports Above the Law.
Oshinsky formerly was a name partner at law firms previously known as Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky and Anderson Kill Olick & Oshinsky.

If it’s a shorter name they’re after, how about “Al”? That would also be listed much closer to the start of the attorney listings in the Yellow Pages.
