The Jones Walker law firm in New Orleans is sponsoring a blood drive on Monday for one of its lawyers who was shot in a carjacking earlier this week.

Sanford Kaynor, a special counsel in the firm’s corporate and securities practice, was critically injured, WGNO reports. The 53-year-old lawyer was shot on Tuesday night when he resisted the carjacking of his Cadillac SUV in the carport of his home, neighbors told WGNO for a prior story.

New Orleans arrested two suspects, both juveniles. One of the teens was wearing an electronic ankle bracelet for a previous drug arrest, but it wasn’t working, police said. Police are still searching for two other suspects.

Kaynor joined Walker Jones in 2008 after five years as a partner at Ropes & Gray. A press release announcing his move has more information.
