A Miami-Dade judge accused of telling a convenience store owner to “Go f— yourself” has agreed to a $10,000 fine and a 30-day suspension.

Judge Jacqueline Schwartz agreed to the penalties (PDF) after the Florida Supreme Court rejected an initial recommendation for a public reprimand and letter of apology, report the Daily Business Review (sub. req.) and the Miami Herald.

Schwartz was accused of losing her temper with the owner of a Miami KWIK Stop in June 2014 because he displayed a campaign sign for her opponent and refused to display her sign. A notice of formal charges (PDF) accused Schwartz of threatening to sue the store owner and telling him to “Go f— yourself.”

Schwartz was also accused of making notes on original documents in a court file and instructing her bailiff to remove the notes when a request was made for a certified copy of the documents that included her notes.
