Judge Awards Workers Comp to Aussie Woman Injured on Business Trip During Hotel Room Hookup
An Australian judge has ruled that a woman injured while having hotel sex on a business trip is entitled to workers compensation.
The woman, a government employee, was injured in 2007 when a wall-mounted light fell on her during the sexual encounter with an acquaintance, report the Daily Telegraph and ABC News. She is not named in the stories. The woman had claimed her employer paid for the hotel room and the injury occurred during the course of her employment.
The ruling by Judge John Nicholas overturned a decision by an administrative appeals tribunal. He said the woman would have been compensated if injured in a motel room while playing a game of cards, and the result should be no different when an injury occurs during sex.
