Judge charged with battery, faces legal ethics complaint after demanding hospital care for friend
A West Virginia judge was criminally charged with misdemeanor battery Monday after an incident in which he is accused of shouting at a nurse and grabbing her arm while insisting that she care for a hospitalized friend in the Charleston area.
Kanawha County Family Court Judge D. Mark Snyder also faces a legal ethics complaint filed by the state supreme court on Tuesday with the Judicial Investigation Commission, according to the Associated Press, WOWK and WSAZ.
The judge did not immediately return a Tuesday message from the AP.
