Banned from the main Broward County, Fla., courthouse and reassigned to work on traffic cases after a reported verbal altercation with another judge, Judge Jay Spechler resigned earlier this year.

But now he has sued Broward Chief Judge Victor Tobin personally for defamation, contending also that Tobin created a hostile work environment and forced him to resign, reports the Miami Herald. He is seeking reinstatement to his judicial job, claiming that his demotion was unconstitutional, and an unspecified amount of monetary damages.

”I did receive it today, and I think the lawsuit is unworthy of comment from me,” says Tobin.
