A municipal judge in Philadephia returned from a men’s room break this week to discover that his robe had gone missing.
Judge Joseph C. Waters Jr., a former police captain, said he left the door to the robing room at the Criminal Justice Center at 13th and Filbert streets unlocked, reports the Philadelphia Daily News.
But the case of the missing judicial garment was soon solved after an e-mail was circulated to other judges and courthouse staff on Wednesday, asking that they be on the lookout for the robe and return it if they found it.
“One of the judges’ secretaries inadvertently picked it up, thinking it belonged to another judge,” Waters tells the Daily News.
