Justice Alito's son is hired as an associate at Gibson Dunn
The son of Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. will be joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as an associate this fall after clerking for a federal appeals judge.
Philip Alito was a summer associate at Gibson Dunn in 2011 and a clerk for Judge Brett Kavanaugh of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, report the Hill’s Blog Briefing Room and The BLT: The Blog of the Legal Times.
Another justice’s son is a partner at the same firm: Eugene Scalia, the son of Justice Antonin Scalia. To avoid ethical issues, Eugene Scalia does not share any income from Gibson Dunn’s Supreme Court litigation work.
