Justice Scalia Gets Around, But He’s Not Really a Fish or On Twitter

Justice Antonin Scalia is on Twitter, and he’s also a fish and a racehorse.

None of those reincarnations of the justice are the real thing, legal journalist Joan Biskupic writes at her blog Court Beat. She received a message that “Antonin Scalia is now following you on Twitter!” but a check with the Supreme Court revealed the author is not the justice.

A search of Google shows a parody Twitter account for Scalia as well as an account for “(Not) Antonin Scalia,” someone who fancies himself “one cool dude.” The parody Scalia account comments on Donald Trump’s presidential aspirations (“I can’t retire if Trump wins. No telling WHO he’d appoint to replace me”) and a list of the worst Supreme Court rulings of all time (“Whew. None of mine made list”).

Biskupic recalls a racehorse named Scalia by a breeder who was pleased with the decision in Bush v. Gore. She also remembers learning about a college student who named one of his fish “Justice Scalia.” Apparently, Justice Scalia ate all the others in the tank.
