The Supreme Court’s newest justice will throw out the first pitch when the New York Yankees play the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.

Sonia Sotomayor isn’t the only justice to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, but she is the only judge lauded for saving baseball, USA Today reports. Sotomayor won praise for a preliminary injunction in 1995 that helped end the baseball strike. She is also a longtime Yankees fan.

The Yankees chose Sotomayor to honor Hispanic Heritage Month, the newspaper says. Other justices tapped to throw first pitches include Samuel Alito, for the Philadelphia Phillies, and John Paul Stevens, for the Chicago Cubs, the newspaper says.
