A convicted kidnapper who reportedly laughed at a Pennsylvania judge and blew a kiss to the prosecutor after being sentenced to a prison term of more than 20 years in 2008 is now facing new charges in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Authorities say Anthony Marcus Davis, 29, sought to include two former cellmates in a plot to abduct George Zozos, a Dauphin County district judge; the judge’s wife, Ginger; the secretary of the state correction department; an acting prison warden; and a bail bondsman. The mission of the complicated alleged scheme was to free Davis from prison. Once they had kidnapped the hostages, they would demand that Judge Zoros’ brother—who is also a bail bondsman—arrange for Davis’ release, according to Lancaster Newspapers, the Patriot News and the New York Daily News.

It isn’t clear from news coverage whether the alleged plan to kidnap corrections officials and a bail bondsman was part of the overall scheme involving the judge, or an alternative abduction plot.

Davis is charged with criminal solicitation to facilitate a felony kidnapping. Court documents say recorded phone calls will be used as evidence in the case, reports Fox 43.

The claimed abduction plot came to light after at least one of Davis’ former cellmates revealed it to authorities. Both reportedly cooperated with the investigation.
