Corbin Bernsen, an actor who played divorce lawyer Arnie Becker on LA Law, last week sued Innovative Legal Marketing in a breach of contract case, the Associated Press reports.

The Norfolk, Va., federal court action seeks more than $660,000 in damages. Bernsen was hired to do promotional work for the legal marketing group in 2009, with a five-year contract, the Hollywood Reporter’s Hollywood, Esq. blog reports. The contract was canceled in June, allegedly because the ad campaign only had success in New York.

Under terms of the contract, Bernsen agreed to record promotional announcements, make public appearances and be available for still photography sessions. In exchange, he would be paid $1 million. $50,000 of which was to be paid upfront at the beginning of each year with subsequent monthly payments of $13,636.36.

The action also contends that the company continued to use images of Bernsen on its website and air Bernsen’s commercials after the contract was terminated, according to the Associated Press.
