A long-time lawyer with the U.S. Labor Department has been arrested based on accusations that he forced his way into a co-worker’s home, threatened her with a Taser and tried to sexually assault her.

Police arrested Paul Mannina, 58, of Ashton, Md., on Wednesday, report the Washington Post, WJLA, WUSA9 and NBCWashington. The Post has prior stories on the June 5 incident here and here. Mannina has been charged with assault with the intent to commit first-degree sexual assault, and burglary while armed, according to the Post.

NBCWashington says the victim was a co-worker, and WJLA says she was an attorney. According to NBCWashington, the victim told police she opened her door when a man knocked on her door and said he had a package to deliver. She said the man threatened her with a Taser, pepper spray and handcuffs, beat her in the face, and tried to sexually assault her. She resisted and the man fled, the stories say.

Mannina worked in the Labor Department’s Office of the Solicitor, according to his profile at Martindale.com.
