A 75-attorney Los Angeles law firm has opened an office in New York City, its first outside Southern California.

Two insurance coverage lawyers who previously worked for now-defunct Dickstein Shapiro are the initial partners at the new Liner location in Manhattan, reports the New York Law Journal (sub. req.).

Ten other ex-Dickstein lawyers also work in Liner’s insurance recovery practice in Los Angeles, including former partner Kirk Pasich. He said he expects the expanding Manhattan office to add four more lawyers “in the near future” and said it will also include other practice areas.

The firm is also known for its litigation and entertainment work. It is currently representing comedian Bill Cosby in insurance coverage suits filed by AIG in three states, seeking a ruling that the insurer is not responsible for his defense in lawsuits alleging sexual assault.
