Lateral partners are largely satisfied with their decision to move, survey says
Partners who jumped from one law firm to another are largely satisfied with their decision, according to a new survey.
About 80 percent said they would join their current firm, if they could do it all over again, and about 16 percent said they would have moved, but to a different firm, the Am Law Daily (sub. req.) reports. Only 3 percent wished they had stayed with their former firms.
Sixty-four percent of the respondents had changed law firms once in their careers, and 24 percent had moved twice. Firm culture was identified as the most important reason for switching firms.
The survey by legal recruiter Major, Lindsey & Africa and ALM Legal Intelligence was based on answers by more than 1,100 partners at larger law firms.
