Drivers passing a law firm billboard as they headed to Jackson, Mississippi, on Friday might well have thought it had been vandalized.

“Go MSU!” is seemingly spray-painted in giant letters across the Morgan & Morgan name and Web address, and the smiling face of founder John Morgan is accented with apparent bulldog ears and fangs, in honor of the Mississippi State University mascot. A spiked collar is painted around his neck.

But, although the firm isn’t commenting directly, some are saying the seeming damage to the multistate personal injury firm’s traditional advertising is intentional, according to the Clarion-Ledger.

“They did it to themselves. That’s their artwork,” general manager Marty Elrod of Lamar Advertising told the newspaper.. He said the brand-new billboard was printed that way and went up Thursday.

An unidentified lawyer at the Jackson office of Morgan & Morgan told WAPT that the firm thinks the billboard is “awesome” and plans to keep it there until MSU loses a game.

An investigation by the firm is ongoing, the lawyer said, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it focuses on John Morgan himself, who is “quite a prankster.”
