Law Firm PR Jobs Bring in the Dough, Salaries Rise 18%
Despite economic woes in the traditional legal industry, salaries for law firm public relations workers are on the rise.
The trade group Law Firm Media Professionals reports that their members saw salary increases of 18 percent last year, to an average of $139,000.
The increase came even though most members who responded to the survey didn’t expect a raise, the Philadelphia Business Journal reports.
The survey (PDF) also noted increases in social media use:
• 65 percent reported their firms publish at least one blog (up from 42 percent in 2009).
• 87 percent report having active LinkedIn accounts (up from 61 percent).
The law firm PR group notes, however, that the sample size for their survey is low and cautions against reading too much into the results. The survey was based on only 69 responses out of 700 members who received the survey.
