Quinn, Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan is enticing newbie lawyers to join the law firm with a $35,000 signing bonus.

The law firm announced the bonus a year after slashing the size of its summer associate program, report the Am Law Daily (sub. req.), Bloomberg Big Law Business and Above the Law.

Quinn Emanuel hired only 12 to 14 associates in its summer associate program this year, compared to about 70 last year, name partner Bill Urquhart told Bloomberg.

The firm says it is offering the $35,000 signing bonuses to 3L students who interview this fall and join the firm as associates in 2017. Federal judicial clerks are eligible for a $75,000 signing bonus. The extra cash is in addition to pay of $180,000 adopted by the firm this year.

Students who think they could be a “litigation master of the universe in the making” are invited to apply.
