Lawyer charged with causing almost $100K in damage to Vegas hotel suite
A California lawyer has been criminally charged with malicious destruction of property, accused of having caused nearly $100,000 in damage to a Las Vegas hotel suite during what police described as a party in which alcohol apparently had been consumed.
Robert Pearman was the registered guest and admitted responsibility, after police were called, for damage caused during a party involving at least half a dozen people, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Sun.
The incident, which occurred March 30 at the Encore, left a two-story, three-bedroom apartment with an estimated $96,270.61 in damage after police say food was smeared on the carpet, drapes, walls and floor and multiple items were broken.
Pearman did not respond to the Review-Journal’s request for comment. He has a workers’ compensation practice in Los Angeles.
The Wynn Las Vegas filed a civil suit against Pearman in April. His lawyers responded Monday and blamed the damage on a “third party.”
Pearman was booked into the Clark County jail but has been released pending a July court date in the felony case.
