Lawyer asked for sex with client's daughter, 13, in exchange for reduced legal fees, police say
An Oklahoma lawyer was charged with a felony Tuesday, accused of offering to cut a criminal defense client’s legal fees in exchange for sexual favors from the woman’s 13-year-old daughter.
Sheriff’s deputies were with the woman when they say Jeremy Daniel Oliver texted her Sunday offering a discount for nude photos or sexual favors from both the 13-year-old and the woman’s 18-year-old daughter, the Oklahoman reports. Oliver was arrested Monday and charged Tuesday in Garvin County District Court with a felony count of soliciting sexual contact with a minor. He also faces another felony charge of distributing obscene material for allegedly texting the client a photo of his penis and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
A search of his home on Monday turned up both the marijuana and several hundred photos of nude women, a sheriff’s captain said.
In an email sent to the newspaper after he was released on $25,000 bond, Oliver said he is not guilty and expects the true facts to come out in court.
A graduate of the Oklahoma City University School of Law, he has been admitted in the state since 2008 and focuses his practice on criminal law, family law, civil litigation and juvenile and guardianship cases, the Daily Mail reports.
