A suburban Washington, D.C., lawyer decided to respond in kind after he received a robocall at 4:33 a.m. telling him that his kindergartener’s school would be opening two hours late.

Aaron Titus arranged his own robocall and sent it at 4:30 a.m. to the school’s general counsel and superintendent, as well as every school board member whose contact information he could find, the Washington Post reports.

This was his message: “This is a Prince George’s County School District parent, calling to thank you for the robocall yesterday at 4:30 in the morning. I decided to return the favor. While I know the school district wanted to ensure I drop my child off two hours late on a snow day, I already knew that before I went to bed. I hope this call demonstrates why a 4:30 a.m. call does more to annoy than to inform. … Quit robocalling parents at 4:30 in the morning or at least allow us to opt out of these intrusive calls.”

A spokesman for the school in Prince George’s County told the newspaper that the wrong time was logged in for the call. Usually such calls are placed at about 6 a.m. and sometimes at 5 a.m.
