Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes, a Massachusetts lawyer, says she likes to fight—literally—and it’s nothing like litigation.

Besides her practice doing workers’ compensation work, she’s training for the World Boxing Council World female super welterweight title, which she hopes to win in her native Poland, the Boston Herald reports.

“The law … is about finding the best solution, which often comes from compromise. In boxing, there are two people in the ring. Either you win or you lose,” said Lopes, 36, who trains in the morning before work. She has a 16-3-2 record, and she is currently the WBC’s Silver welterweight champion.

She came to the U.S. as a teenager, and started wrestling in high school. After college, she discovered boxing and continued to pursue the sport while a student at the New England School of Law. In fact, she had a fight the night before her law school graduation, and came to the ceremony in full braids.

“Outside the gym, I’m an attorney. It is what I truly consider my profession after all the education and work,” Lopes told the newspaper. “However, when I wake up in the morning, in my heart I am a fighter.”
